The CS4SDGs-Ghana project is selected as an impact story as part of the DataForChange campaign of Paris 21 (established by the UN, the European Commission, the OECD, the IMMF, and the World Bank to promote the better use and production of statistics throughout the developing world). The project showcases the leverage of existing citizen science data to officially feed into the SDG monitoring and reporting processes in Ghana.
Find out here the storymap of the project that shows the current situation in Ghana and how monitoring marine litter is important for understanding how it impacts the natural environment, for informing national policy and for building consumer awareness of issues related to the use of plastics. In addition, it is mentioned how Citizen Science data can be used to monitor marine litter in Ghana.
